Pet Kare - Beware!

We got this message the yesterday but didn't have time to share it with you.

It's a message from one of our Extended Family and we felt it important to pass his message on... It's serious stuff people...

I know I have dealers in my circle but hope you understand what I am saying...

On Sunday I went to:

Pet Kare II

The employee/manager on Sunday June 17th stated to me and my children that an advertised adult Beared Dragon was $79.95 but was willing to sell it at $50.00. I told him I would be back today to get it.

Upon my arrival I stated to an employee that I was quoted $50 for the Dragon. She called the manager to verify. He stated that was impossible and could not sell me the dragon for that price. I stated since I was quoted by the employee and I also purchased a Large Iguana that day for $50. That he should honor his price by the acting manager. He said that the employee was not authorised to make such discounts (but made the deal of selling me the iguana from $79.00 to $50.00)

What he would do is call the employee and confirm the transaction. Upon returning he stated that the employee said he made no statement/transaction with anyone.

I HATE TO BE CALLED A LIAR, MY CHILDREN WERE PRESENT, HEARD EVERYTHING AND WERE EXPECTING TO GET THE DRAGON TODAY.

I walked out irrateted and stated you have not heard the last of me!

The reason I write this is to show the unity the reptile community has and hope no one has the same experience. I shop there regularly and did not expect this treatment. I try to give my business to local merchants but will have a better experience with reputable dealers.

Again this happened at Pet Kare II, 250 Pencader Plaza, Newark, DE 19713, USA but it could happen to you anywhere!

We agree with you Red! And we're backing you all the way. It's the only way to show these people. Bogus quotes and bad customer service, people need to be aware of these things.

We hope you have managed to find another from a REPUTABLE DEALER unlike this store and that your kids are reptiling it up.

Has anyone else come across any reptile shops that they'd rather not step foot in again? We'd love to know and tell the world your story! Remember this happened in the USA and it's made it's way to the UK already! Let's get these shops treating people right and just!

Gecko Galleries!!!!

Hey Guys!

Ok so since I'm in charge of the photography on The Gecko Diaries, it's only right I be the one to tell you that our Galleries are up and running for you! 

Each of us have a Gecko Gallery on Flickr and if you hit one of our photos in the side bar it'll lead you right to it. But don't worry! There's plenty of links to bring you back!

The galleries are quite small at the moment but over time they will grow and grow and when you've been hitting those adverts enough we'll have better and better equipment to bring The Gecko Diaries to you! We're talking nice photos, webcams and all sorts. So anyway, there are photo's there so have a look about. You may want to start your own Flickr Album. Let us know if you do!

I don't know who's writing what next. I'm gonna go and take a sleep, it's been a long night.

Get Your Gecko Cuisine

I've done it! I've finally done it!! I also think it was mean of Harri to post that photo of me asleep on the job either >:( 

So anyway I have finished the Gecko Cuisine page and now you can find out what we eat and how we should be fed! All very exciting. I love to eat, but then again no one like's to eat like Selma like to eat (and that's a lot!)

You'll find out other things on this page including the fact that we eat "pinkies"... baby mice and all sorts. Obviously we also have the cool photos of us and there'll be many more coming. The Marquis got a new camera today and she loves using us as models. Luckily for us she doesn't use a flash so our eyes stay safe! It's not the greatest camera but it is better then the one she was using. Hopefully soon she'll get a really nice one.

OtM... Might Be Going...

Hi all, Missy here!

So I guess you've heard the news about On the Marquis... Very sad... 

That also has consequences for us... Not only will we have to move with The Marquis but we might not have access to the internet...!

Although On the Marquis... is going we're gonna try and stay! I mean this predominately an info site about how to get and care for a Leopard Gecko, so we're gonna stay up and running, we may not be able to blog as often... But we will be able to get a post to you atleast once a week and we'll be updating info and photos as much as we possibly can. It maybe the end for On the Marquis... but it is still only the beginning for us!!

So please keep in touch because we are not going anywhere! Period!

A Long Few Days

Hey Guys!

Wow it's been a long few days these Diamond Jubilee celebrations! But even as geckos we still love the Queen. Isn't she great!? And 60 years is a long time to be in any job!

So from all of us here at The Gecko Diaries we would like to wish Queen Elizabeth II a happy and wonderful Diamond Jubilee! You deserve it Queeny!!

As for our side, well, we're gonna try and get some more of the pages up and running but they are more specialist and will take a bit long to get just right so bare with us... We are doing things as quickly as possible for you but we also want to make sure all the info, photos and all else is correct and looking lovely before we let you have it.

I think Patty wants the laptop now, (she's only going to google dinosaurs or something instead of working) so I will have to sign off now.

Hi everyone, Selma here...

It's not going to be a very long post but it's my first post and I wanted to say hi. I hope to get to know you all really well :)

So today I have completed "Choosing A Gecko". I guess the title is explanitory. It's information about what to think about and what to look for when you are going to get yourself a new gecko friend...

Gecko Info Available To You

Hey Everyone! Harri blogging to ya!

Sorry it's taken a while to get out, I have been asleep most of the day, but the "Gecko Info" page is up and running for your viewing pleasure! Find information about what Leopard Geckos are, Where we come from and Why we are great pets!

I personally think we make great pets because of the different variety of colours and patterns we have. I knowwe're not the most diverse family when it comes to colourings and patterns but some of us are orange like Our Kelly was (sunshine leopard gecko), some are white and spotty like dalmations (blizzard leopard geckos), others are various colours with stripes or spots. And people are selectively breeding new morphs all the time! It's all very exciting. When we have enough money to get a bigger viv. we're thinking of getting some new additions, maybe a male now that there's only us 4 girls, although another sister is always good. The Marquis isnt looking to breed us anyway.

So that's all up and running if you want to have a look. I think Selma's getting a start on how to choose your gecko but I'm not sure if she'll get it out tonight or not. We'll have to wait and see.

Hi Everyone! Missy here!!

So you can now Contact Us!! We actually have email addresses!! I know!! These days everyone and their mother's cat has one, so why not us?? If you turn your lovely attention to the left hand navigation bar and scoll to the bottom you will find a weird photo of Harri's up at the window, anyways, if you click there it'll bring you to all our contact info and a few wicked photos...

Hopefully at some point tomorrow Harri's gonna get the "Gecko Info" page sorted out and I think Selma said she might get the "Choosing A Gecko" stuff sorted... I'm not too sure to be honest... Being the youngest they tend to leave me out of some of the major planning. I don't care anyways!!

So have a look around on our new Contact Us page. We love getting mail. All sorts from fan mail, questions about us and our species in general and random things like I know Patty loves poetry and I know I love getting funny forwards...

We're Getting Started!

Hi guys! We're glad you've take time out of your busy busy human lives to take a wonder through The Gecko Diaries part of On the Marquis...!

Wow, I don't think my Ancestors, many moons ago in places like Afganistan, northwestern India and Pakistan would have thought we'd end up sitting in someones front room one day in the UK, watching tv, munching on as many tasty mealworms as we want (well within reason, still gotta watch the figure) and updating a blogsite. 

Lol, but here we are!

Well, here I am, Patty :) So I'm getting the opportunity to welcome you to The Gecko Diaries! Very exciting! Harri thought she was gonna get to do it but hey-ho the underdog won and here I am!

As you can see the site is not entirely finished. In fact it's not nearly finished but it's here (like us lol) and it's already giving you a taste of what's to come! At the moment you can Meet the Family (left sidebar) and search all bits and pieces (on the right sidebar).

In the next few days the other pages will be updated in the next week or so and each introduced by one of the others. I'll be back soon though!  I'll get to introduce another page at some point, well I was told anyway. Harri or Selma will probably get to do loads. Ahh well. 

So enjoy what's here so far, and definitely enjoy whats to come! See you all again real soon!
